Academy member Dr. Jakub Jernajczyk, as the sole representative of the humanist and art sciences, became a laureate of the competition INTER of the Foundation for Polish Science.

In Warsaw, on 22 November 2014, the final of the third edition of the popularizing INTER competition took place. The competition was organized as part of the SKILLS Project of the Foundation for Polish Science. The presentations by 19 finalists were evaluated by the Competition Jury which included among others Prof. Maciej Żylicz, Foundation’s President, Halina Waś, PhD (laureate of the INTER 2013 competition), Ed. Krzysztof Michalski (Polish Radio, TVP), and Ed. Edwin Bendyk (Polityka magazine). Jakub Jernajczyk won the III Prize for his presentation “Thinking in Images: The Role of Digital Media in Popularizing Science”. The grant given by the Foundation for Polish Science will finance an interdisciplinary research project “Visualization of scientific issues – classic examples from the perspective of new digital media”. The executive team includes Bartłomiej Skowron, PhD (philosopher, The Pontifical University of John Paul II in Kraków, Academy of Young Scholars and Artists) and Marcin Czub, PhD (cognitive psychologist, University of Wrocław).
